INFORMATION YOU SHOULD BE AWARE OF
INFORMATION YOU SHOULD BE AWARE OF
Positioning and quantity of lights is important. The depth of the light should be
between 30cm and 40cm from the top of the coping, any deeper and it will make
the light difficult to service. Safety for swimmers at night should be taken into
consideration when positioning your lights. To maximize and create pleasing
effects you can always send a plan of your pool through to us at
tech@spaelectrics.com.au and we can help you design the lighting for your pool.
All underwater lights require a waterproof rating of IPX8.
All new underwater lights must not exceed 12vAC or 30vDC. Exceptions apply to
existing installations.
Your light must be water cooled at all times. It must NEVER be turned on unless its completely submerged in water, otherwise damage will occur.
When servicing Spa Electrics lights always replace components with genuine Spa Electrics parts.
Cable size and cable length have an effect on voltage. All Spa Electrics lights have been designed and are sold with the correct cable length and size to suit the performance of the light. Adding length to the cable will produce greater voltage drop, decreasing the amount of voltage available to the light. Excessively shortening the supplied cable will increase the voltage, making it too high and this can shorten the life of your light.
Ensure enough cable is left behind the light for ease of servicing by allowing the
light to be raised above water level.
When changing globes DO NOT touch the Halogen globe with your fingers. This will cause a potential hotspot on the globe severely shortening the life of the globe.
If you need to change a globe you can refer to the support pages for an instruction sheet.
When replacing the globe ensure that you only use a genuine Spa Electrics
replacement parts.
The globe and ceramic block are supplied as a complete unit for easy installation.
The reason for replacing both the globe and ceramic block with only genuine
Spa Electrics parts are as follows:
     1. Spa Electrics only use long life, high quality Halogen-Tungsten globes.
     2. The ceramic block is used to ensure that a firm and constant pressure is
applied to the bi-pins of the globe via the stainless steel springs.
The combination of these two features maximize the globe life to in excess of
  1200 hours.
Using your pool light regularly i.e. 15 minutes per week will aid in removing any
excess moisture within the light cavity and increase the longevity of your light.
